Privacy policy

This policy explains how personal data is handled for people who visit cabaclub.it or contact CABA Club, under the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) and the Italian Privacy Code (Legislative Decree 196/2003, as amended by Legislative Decree 101/2018). The Italian version is the legally binding one.

2. What data we process

Browsing data. Like any website, the server hosting cabaclub.it automatically records some technical data: IP address, date and time of the visit, page requested, browser type and referring site. It is used only to run and secure the site, not to identify you.

Data you send us. When you message us on WhatsApp or by email, we process your name, phone number or email address and whatever you write to us (for example the date, time, number of people and type of activity you want the venue for).

Images. Photos and videos taken during evenings and events: see section 9.

The site has no contact forms, user accounts, newsletter or online payments.

3. Cookies

This site uses no profiling, analytics or third-party cookies, and sets no cookies of its own. Fonts and images are hosted on our own server, so simply browsing the site sends no data to Google or other outside services. That is why the site shows no cookie banner.

4. Why we process data and on what legal basis

• Answering your enquiries, sending availability and quotes, and handling any venue booking: pre-contractual steps or performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
• Running and securing the site (browsing data): our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
• Legal obligations, such as tax and accounting records when a booking is made (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).

We don't use your data for marketing without your consent, and we don't carry out profiling or automated decision-making.

5. Who may receive your data

• Aruba S.p.A., our web host, acting as data processor. Its servers are in Italy.
• WhatsApp (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.), if you choose to message us on WhatsApp. WhatsApp's own privacy policy also applies.
• Proton AG, our email provider, based in Switzerland.
• Advisers such as our accountant, only where needed to meet legal obligations.

We never sell or hand over your data to anyone else.

6. Transfers outside the European Union

Switzerland, where Proton is based, is recognised by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of protection. If you message us on WhatsApp, Meta may transfer data to the United States under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, as described in its own policy.

7. How long we keep data

• Browsing data: only as long as needed to keep the site secure, according to the web host's settings.
• Messages and enquiries: up to 24 months after the last contact, if no booking follows.
• Data linked to a booking: as long as Italian law requires for tax and accounting records (10 years, Art. 2220 of the Civil Code).

8. Classes run by groups that use the venue

Registration for classes held at CABA Club (ISTango, JHS Dance School, physiotherapist Antonio Di Deco and others) is handled directly by each association or teacher. Each is an independent data controller for its own members, including minors. Please contact them directly for their privacy information.

9. Photos and videos at milongas and events

During evenings and events at CABA Club, CABA Club or photographers working for us may take photos and short videos to document our activities and share them on cabaclub.it and our social channels (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube). A sign at the entrance to the hall says when filming is taking place.

• What we publish without asking you: wide shots of the hall and details in which you can't be recognised (feet, shoes, an embrace seen from behind, the dance floor). Legal basis: our legitimate interest in documenting and promoting the association's activities (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
• What we publish only with your consent: images in which you are recognisable and the main subject, such as close-ups and portraits. You give consent with a written release and can withdraw it at any time (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; Art. 10 Italian Civil Code and Art. 96 Italian Copyright Law).
• Minors: we don't publish images in which a minor is recognisable without written consent from a parent or guardian.
• If you don't want to appear: tell the photographer or the organisers during the evening, or write to us afterwards. We won't use images in which you are recognisable and we'll remove any already published on the channels we manage, normally within 7 days of your request.
• Retention: unpublished images stay in our archive for up to 24 months; published images stay online while they help tell the story of our activities, or until you ask us to remove them.

Images published on social media are also subject to the rules of the platforms that host them (Meta, Google/YouTube). We don't use images for facial recognition and we don't hand them to third parties for advertising.

10. Links to other sites

The site links to Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Google Maps, WhatsApp and lafestamilonguera.com. Following these links takes you to outside sites that have their own privacy policies and are not under our control.

11. Your rights

You can ask us at any time to access, correct or delete your data, restrict its processing, receive it in a portable format or object to its processing (Articles 15–22 GDPR). Write to cabaclubsocial@proton.me and we'll reply within 30 days.

If you think your data has been handled improperly, you can lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.

12. Changes

We may update this policy, for example if we add new services to the site. The date of the last update is shown at the top.
